Most treks in this region commence from Pokhara valley, which lies 200 km from Kathmandu, the capital city, in the shadow of the lovely Annapurna Mountains. Annapurna circuit trek begins at the middle-hills villages of Besi Sahar on the Marshyangdi River and follow the river all the way from Brahmin-Chhetri-Gurung settlement to that of the Tibetan Buddhist regions of Manang. The high point is the crossing of the Thorong-La at 5416 m. into the Kali Gandaki valley stopping at the famous shrine of Muktinath through Thakali settlements, Magar and Gurung villages back into Pokhara. Or beginning in the tropical climate of Pokhara is bare 900m. and gradually ascending to the 5400m pass above Muktinath, and may be on to upper Mustang which was opened in October 1991 to a limited number of tourists.

The major trekking routes of the region:     9 DAYS – Ghorepani Circuit Trek Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu. Day 02 After breakfast, we drive for Kathmandu City sightsees. At first we stop at Hanumandhoka where several beautiful old palaces and temples are scattered here and there. We take time to explore every single item with the expert/guide on your mother language as long as it is possible. Afterwards, we take lunch and further drive to Swyambhunath Stupa. We take time for exploring it about one hour then we drive to Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa of Nepal. The folk of people who we see here are the Tibetans. They are preserving their Tibetan lifestyle here too as well as they have in Tibet. We can take a view while, setting on the roof of the Stupa for a while, it is relaxing. In the lastly when we are driving towards hotel, we stop at Pashupatinath temple too. This is a holy shrine for hindues, on the bank of Bagmati river. Bagmati River is supposed to be the holiest river therefore where any Hindu desires to be cremation after his death near by here. Drive back to Hotel. Dinner and good night. 22 DAYS – Tilicho Lake (the lake located at the highest point in the world).

One of the most beautiful treks on earth starts at Beshisahar then follows the trail of the Annapurna Circuit Trek upto Manang and then down falls at Marshyangdi river leaving the left hand side trail to Thorong La, reached at Khangsar. A serious adventure begins here from Khangsar and you should be ready to welcome more and more as you proceed up. Tilicho Lake (4120m.) has wonderful views to offer you at all four directions. Mesoquanto Pas one the direct way to Jomsom remains un-passable during the snowy season.
